Rebirth is not just a level reset any more. Every rebirth pays out perk points (5 on your first, 3 on each after) that you spend on nine permanent perks. They stack on top of your magical gear, they survive every future rebirth, and they are yours for good. Type !rebirthperks in game to open the perk channel.
Caps differ a little by vocation, so a knight's Vitality runs higher and a mage's Vigor and Wisdom go further. Short on points? Up to three extra can be bought for gold, and a perk reset scroll lets you respec whenever your build changes. Read up on the Rebirth system and start planning your first rebirth.
